About Me

Hello! My name is Gracie Brim. I am a native New Mexican, lover of the Spanish language, and anything green chile. I have lived in San Antonio since 2010 and have quickly lost my tolerance to cold climates, but still miss the New Mexico winters annually. I achieved my Bachelor’s in Sociology and Masters in Teaching from Trinity University and worked for Woodridge Elementary for four years. I have a husband, Justin, a son, Wylie, and a fur baby, Nomad. My main job is keeping track of a busy two-year-old, but in my limited free time, I love to exercise, read, and cook.

When looking back on my educational endeavors, I have learned many things that have helped me gain better insight into myself as a learner and mentor today. My biggest strength as a student was working diligently. As a student, I would dig deeper into difficult subjects to prove to myself that I could achieve anything I set my mind to. My biggest struggle as a student was that I always aimed to please. It would seem like I had it all figured out for fear of showing a lack of understanding. You can find me best managing stress by partaking in my hobbies listed above. As an instructor for Beyond, I am most looking forward to relating/empathizing with students to meet them where they are and find a viable path for achievement.
