About Me

Hello! My name is Sara Werth, and I am a native of St. Louis, Missouri. I graduated from New Mexico Highlands University in 2013. I live on a mountain just east of Albuquerque with my husband and three cats. In my spare time, I enjoy making jewelry (so many earrings!), hiking the mountain, and cooking/baking. I am excited to be a mentor for Beyond Education because I love working with students, building their confidence, and helping them realize their full potential.

When looking back on my educational journey, I have learned many things that have helped me gain better insight into myself as a learner and mentor today. For instance, my biggest struggle as a student was maintaining focus on long-term goals. My biggest strength was my communication skills. When I am stressed, I play with my cat or take a bath (but never both at the same time!). One valuable thing from my past that I hope to share as a mentor is to let students know that I remember what it was like to be in their shoes. My desire is to create a sense of trust through the empathy I will show each one of them.
